Columbia, SC, March 31, 2016 (Newswire.com) - The University of South Carolina today announced the launch of a fully online Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Educational Technology. The program accommodates working educators and professionals who want to further develop their ability to design, implement, evaluate and research technology-based learning, instruction and training.

“The rigorous doctoral concentration in Educational Technology will help educators meaningfully plan, implement, and research learning technologies, including instructional systems design, computer-based training, multimedia development, technology integration, designs for diverse learners and ever-expanding online capabilities,” said Michael Grant, Educational Technology Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the university’s College of Education. “The degree’s online format permits working professionals to advance their skills in a flexible way that fits within their busy schedules.”

The Educational Technology coursework is aligned to the AECT 2012 Standards, and Carolina is a member of the Carnegie Project for the Education Doctorate (CPED). Applications are currently being accepted for the first start date, which is scheduled to begin in August 2016. The coursework can be completed in as little as 36 months.
